OPI Mariah Carey Collection Review **Giveaway Closed**

This is a collection I have been looking forward to ever since I first heard of it back in August.
It is the first OPI collection to feature Liquid Sand. Where the polish dries with a textured feel to it and does not require top coat.

A Butterfly Moment was a shocker for me because when I first saw it in the bottle I thought it was nothing exciting. Sorta like flesh toned putty. Once on the nail the shimmer in it came alive and it was really flattering. It's such a delicate color yet it's got a nice golden shimmer that makes it sing once on the nail. It's also one of those perfect for the work place polishes. Application was very good on this one. 

I layered Pink Yet Lavender over A Butterfly Moment and It was such a killer combo! The name on this one makes me scratch my head because the larger hex pieces are light pink and there's a smaller glitter in it and they are supposed to be "lavender". They are so small and so sparkly that to me it doesn't come off as a strong lavender. Regardless of the silly name This polish does not disappoint. 

Sprung is a stunning copper foil. I tend to stay away from browns but this one I don't mind. It has pink and golden yellow undertones in it. I did 3 coats on this one.

Some of my favorite OPI polishes are their Cremes. Anti-Bleak does not disappoint. The Extra pro wide brush really helped me apply this polish on with ease. Amazing formula, nice and opaque went on like butter! I do like this darker purple creme no complaints about this one. 
Now to the fun part.... The Liquid Sands

Get your Number was the sheerest of the four. While you can see a peek of the Nail line it's not very noticeable in person. I wouldn't recommend layering it over a colored polish because on it's own it's very mesmerizing. While I do like the liquid sand on this color I actually prefer it with a top coat only because The sparkles in it really come alive and it looks like some amazing super blue water you just want to take a dive into and swim in forever! 

Stay the night is pretty simple in that it's black with reddish pink glitter in it. Because of the Texture in it , it reminds me of a volcanic rock with burning embers in it.  The glitters really seem like they glow in-between the matte black. 

Stars!!! The impossible I really like this one but I found it to be a pain to try to fish out the stars, before you put this one on flip the bottle upside down so that the stars float back up and then the fishing will be a little easier. With a top coat on this one reminded me of a super juicy fruity roll up!! 

Can't let go is purple with blue undertones. Not much to say about this one, I'll let the pictures do all the talking.
Some of my notes about the liquid sand:

I liked it! At first when I heard about the textured polish I was worried. It is much smoother on the nail then it look like from the pictures. I think that's my favorite thing about it. It looks super crazy and bumpy in the pictures yet it's rather smooth. Yes there is texture that you feel but it's like a super fine gritted sandpaper. Nothing that will get caught on your  clothes or in your hair. It takes a little time to dry and for the effect to come through. On the directions OPI states to do two coats. I found that for me I needed 3 thin coats. You wanna give it up to ten minutes to dry. While waiting it's not like paint that you can smear or dent so don't worry that it will smudge like regular polish.  Just don't plan on painting you nails and jumping up right away and getting your hands all messy. A big concern about these was removal and how tough that would be. I remove all my polish the same way and It came off without any fuss. I use cotton balls with a squirt of remover and I wear finger pads over it. If you are just using a cotton ball then it will be a touch more work than just regular polish but it will seem like a dream compared to removing glitter.  I did test wear for these polishes on one finger and I must have had it on for 2 weeks, it stayed on pretty well , i did have a little chipping but nothing any other polish wouldn't do in that same time period.
Okay my last note... Top Coat. While these are supposed to be worn without Top Coat, you can throw it on to change the look up. These are going to be thirsty for top coat. I used anywhere from 3-4 thin coats. I also admit that while I really like the liquid sand effect I thought all of these polishes looked better with top coat on, They turned into these super squishy Jelly polishes. I can't say I own any polishes that look that squishy and fun like these with a top coat. I do like how you end up getting two looks out of one polish. I also liked how even though these are "Matte" there is a lot of glitter pieces and sparkle that shines through the matte rocky texture. So these are huge winners in my book I can't wait to see more!
