Jindie Nails Candy Land , ABC Challenge C

C is for Candy Land!

I fell in love with this polish pretty much as soon as I saw bottle shots of it. While it's major Eye Candy, it did have it's set backs. While I really like the polish I want to go into detail about the application process... I decided to wear this on it's own and build it up. Well the base is very sheer. I honestly don't know how many coats I used. The application on this one is rather difficult. In fact it took me a long time to paint my nails... (sad part is I only painted 4 fingers!) I paint my nails a lot so I can usually change a manicure really quickly While building up the color I kept an eye out on the glitters.  You don't want to have too many over-laping because then you end up with a clumpy look. I also found that I didn't end up with an even spread of glitters like I wanted. So I basically dumped a little polish off to the side and fished out the glitters from the pile of paint.  It was easier than trying to fish them out of the bottle. I filled in spots with glitter to make my nails more festive. As much as I tried to avoid clumping with application it happened anyway. I wasn't sure I could smooth everything out with top coat but to my surprise the polish did even itself out. I used 3 topcoats in the end. So my verdict..... If you like the way this looks then buy it. Yes the application will be a little of a challenge but know that if you work with it, It will look great. It maybe a little easier to work with if you start off with a base color. I did do a test swatch of this over a blue and it looked a little streaky so I would suggest layering it over an off white.

Also a super quick note if you haven't entered My OPI Mariah Carey Collection Giveaway yet , please do so because it's about to end! Picture with link is to the right!

  2. This polish is just...to die!!! I love the colors! I don't know if it would work but I suggest applying two coats of Essie's Marshmallow underneath. Marshmallow is a white jelly :)

  3. Wow what a pretty polish, not sure I'd have the patience for it though, I'd probably have to layer it over a white.

  4. This polish is soooo funny! I love the colored, almost neon glitters. Sorry to read that it's a bit hard to apply, but it seems to worth the extra work. :)

  6. ahhhhh I've had my eyes on this polish forever! I wasn't sure what it looked like though, so i'm so glad you swatched it. Hate to hear it's a little difficult to apply. I'll have to keep that in mind. Great pics and post!

  7. Gorgeous mani. Sorry about the app issues. I had a similar thing happen with one of the lovely polishes from The Hungry Asian: the glitter stuck, like glue, to the side of the bottle. In my case, it took three coats to get even the suggestion of glitter out. You did far better than me, on that score. I recently read that the problem comes about as a result of glitters being poured into the bottle and THEN mixed, as opposed to the polish and glitter being hand-mixed in a beaker, for instance.

  8. which hungry asian did you have problems with? Everyone of hers i've ever used seemed flawless! I've never heard about the poured vs mixing ... very interesting that something so simple could make such a difference!

  9. I love the look of it but I am such a lazy person that I couldn't possibly handle the tricky application :(

  12. It's "Brrr!" and I wouldn't give it up for the world. That polish has a pale blue crelly base that's got a tiny bit of emerald microshimmer. Crazy gorgeous. For that reason alone, I'll gladly go deep sea fishing for the larger glitters. But, again, it's definitely deep sea fishing with my bottle.
