Today I have a look at a few polishes from the China Glaze Tranzitions Collection. These are not your average polishes. What makes them special is that when you apply a Top coat over them they change colors. China Glaze recommends you use their Fast Forward top coat, however I've tried several different top coats and they all worked for me. In general Fast Forward has a thinner formula than other top coats I usually use like Seche Vite. I really liked these polishes. I had lots of fun with these. At first I admit I thought to myself oh no I can't put a top coat over this and I gotta let it dry on it's own. I thought for sure I'd have a smudged dented paint job. However that did not happen.
The formula on these is nice in that it's pretty opaque so you get great coverage in just 1-2 coats. It also dried very well. I found that you can control the color change effect because the heavier you are with the top coat the darker the effect can turn out. With that being said If you are trying to paint over a whole finger the color change can look streaky, so I would recommend doing something fun like just tips or some funky nail art like I did. The idea of this would be ideal for like a tape manicure but keep in mind that you'd have to let the paint completely dry for at least a day before you put tape on it or else the tape would stick to your manicure and you'd end up with a mess. I really think the Tranzitions are unique and super fun, even if you can't do much nail art I'd still recommend picking up a bottle since you can always do dots with it. I'd love to see more of these!
I had a little fun with my designs, I freehanded all of them and for the most part I was pretty happy with them. The blue flowers didn't turn out like I wanted them too but hey you can't win them all! So what do you think? Is this a must have or are you going to pass?
PICS AFTER THE JUMP |
