I thought it was only fitting to finally open up my box of OPI Real 18K Gold Top Coat after trying out the Bond Manicure yesterday. The base is OPI Skyfall which was sent to me for review. This combo makes me think of chocolate wrapped in a gold foil... I've been craving chocolate all day and I don't even like it that much! So I waited to buy The Man with the Golden Gun at Ulta because I had a $5.00 off coupon. This polish retails for $30 so any little discount I could use I was all over. I went to Ulta and did not find it and basically walked around for 30 mins trying to find something else to buy to use the coupon, I finally did and I went to check out and I asked the cashier when they would be getting some in and she was like oh we have that and it was sorta hidden right by the registers. She explained to me that did that because they didn't want people shoplifting them. Well needless to say I dropped my original items I was going to purchase and brought home my very own gold bottle of OPI Polish!! Of course I've already bought a few other gold flake top coats but I just had to have this bottle, The polish hoarder in me made me buy it!! No issues with it, nice gold flake size. This was approx 3 coats and you get a nice 3d effect on the nail where the gold looks like it's suspended within the paint with each layer you do. My friend got married within the last few months and she went back and forth for months trying to figure out what manicure to do for the big day and she ended up using this gold flake layered over a light lilac purple. It's a really elegant polish. I'd buy it again and come on how can you say no to this unique bottle. hah yep it's super reflective... you can totally see my camera in all the bottle shots :) !

So pretty! I've been wanting this gold topcoat and your pictures just make me want it more!
ReplyDeleteHey! I'm that friend that got married! Yay! Here's what it looked like on me. I must have done 8 million swatches of different manicures, and even once I had decided on this I wasn't sure about it. But I like that it's a subtle enough color that I won't freak out when looking back at wedding photos in 20 years, yet I still had REAL GOLD ON MY FINGERS for my wedding day. Not too shabby!
