Hare Golden Years

This is the first Hare polish I've put on my nails. I have a friend who is all about Hare polishes and I've always felt sorta indifferent about them. But I have to admit sometimes I get caught up in the excitement of things and well that's what happened when I placed my first Hare order. I saw on their Facebook page that there was going to be a restock and so I ran over to the Etsy site and I was not prepared at all. If I had been smart I would have been more familiar with the colors and grabbed up what I wanted but instead I was taking my sweet time checking out the colors. I don't know if you guys know this or not but Etsy does not actually hold items in your cart so someone else could buy out a product from right under you nose. hah well anyway it was an experience I ended up buying three Hare Polishes and I do think I'll buy more down the line.
I put on Golden years because I was wearing Pretty Serious BSOD and I thought this would be a good polish to layer over that since BSOD is a similar blue color. In one coat Golden Years covered up BSOD like it was never on my nail. The glitter in this one is very dense. I think I only did 2 coats but it's possible I threw on a 3rd. My first thought was blah I need to take this off and redo my manicure but I kept it on overnight and in the morning I saw it in another light and actually didn't mind it so much. In the right lighting this polish is really nice but I can't say it's a favorite of mine. Ever have a change of heart while wearing a polish? I know there are more Hare Polishes in my future!

  1. The Finder's Keepers collection (which this one is a part of) was actually the first time I got interested in Hare polishes. I bought three of them when they were first stocked at Llarowe, and loved them so much I bought the second three (including Golden Years), and have yet to see the package. That was about a month and a half ago, and I'm pretty sad because it looks like that package got lost in the mail. My point is that I think this collection is pretty awesome - I'm hoping to complete it someday :'( I find they're difficult polishes to work with, rather thick and (for me) gloopy, but they are really beautiful in terms of their mixtures of glitter. I hope this one comes around for you, it looks really great in these photographs.

  2. It looks really pretty. Sometimes I'll do my nails and not be happy with them, but when I wake up I'm usually ok with it.

  3. This looks beautiful on you. You're right The Finder's Keeper's collection was amazing. One of the best so far from Hare Polish. I am not really a fan of their first collection though.

  5. I think this one looks better with just 1 coat over an opaque base, it gets crowded otherwise :(.
