Sephora by OPI : 212 Sephora

About 3 weeks ago Sephora opened up in our local mall so of course I had to go check it out. We also have a Sephora inside the JC Penney in the same mall which I thought for sure was going to close down but oddly enough it's not so went from No Sephora's to an abundance of Sephora's within the last year. So The best thing about the Sephora that just opened up besides the fact that it's a full retail store is the fact that it had a Nail Bar. It's very pretty to look however once you acquire as much nail polish as I have it's tough to find something that really catches your eye. I picked up 212 Sephora and took it home with me. I'm a little mixed on this polish. I never really feel in love with it. It has a lot of factors that made me pick it up and buy it, like the flakes and the little glitter pieces. However for me the romance ended with the actual base of the color it's a brown and it has a golden shimmer. Perhaps if it were a black base I'd like it more. But this bronze color did not really play well with my cool toned skin. I know this would suit a warm tone much much better. I'm to pale to pull this one off. But once I bring home a polish it never leaves the nest , unless I already have a dup for it. On the plus side It's a very unique combo and I don't have one like it. I read somewhere that this polish was created for the opening of one of the New York Sephora locations hence the area code 212. It is supposed to mimic the NY Skyline at night. So it is very fitting that I bought this as my Sephora Opening present to myself.

  3. Such a curious mixture of different things (flakes, glitter, etc). I agree with you about the brown base- but maybe you could layer it over a black creme to change the tone of it?

    1. i haven't tried putting it one a black but I don't think it would help since it's got that bronze shimmer that i think will just mask over the black. But in the end the brown makes it more unique

  4. Layer it over black like Lacquer Tracker said! It really does make a difference. I have pics of it like that on my blog.
