Lime Crime Les Desserts D'Antoinette

I never thought a collection of Pastel colors would excite me as much as this one did. I've never been a big fan of pastels. Previous experiences with pastels just left me quite disappointed since they can tend to be very streaky and require several coats. When these arrived I  did a quick swatch of these on my nails just over the manicure I had on. I saw that these were highly pigmented and were covering up in pretty much once coat. I was impressed. Now that's something I don't see all the time, I roughly have I dunno approx 2,000 polishes ( I think) and so it's rare for any polishes to really knock my socks off. These did.

Most of them go on smooth like butter and Most of them could be one coaters. Out of habit every manicure I ever do is 2-3 coats and I always wear a top coat, so thats what I naturally did with these. There were no standouts for me as far as poor application, They all went on nicely, a few of the lighter ones needed an extra coat. Now of course not every polish in this collection was a mega star to me but it was more because the shade didn't really appeal to me. I'll go ahead and just say it, Once in a Blue Mousse you are the weakest link, goodbye! But on the plus side I was super surprised that I actually really liked the orange and the yellow in the collection since well I'm not a big fan of those colors in general.

These are pastels but a few are borderline Neon. Which I don't mind since I love me some Neon! These colors in general are pretty unique although I do have a few similar polishes but nothing quite close to these. The Colors in the collection play well with each other and Ive had fun mixing and matching them. I've been playing with them all week and it's been great, hah even got several compliments while out and about! I'm gonna have to do some nail art with these before I put them up.

This is my First experience with Lime Crime and although I've heard of some of the past drama with the brand to me it doesn't matter. As long as the product and service is good that's what matters in my book. I believe in second chances and with a collection like this they are worthy of it. These retail for $39.99 for the whole collection or $5.99 a bottle. Each bottle is 9ml. They can be purchased directly here: Lime Crime

I'm looking forward to future Collections because this one was a lot of fun! My only complaint yes of course I have one... The bottle... While I think it's cute,  love the logo and the frosted texture is neat. It's not a very uncomfortable bottle to hold while you're taking pictures! Jokes aside very impressed with these.

My top three absolutely love polishes from this collection are 1. Pastelchio 2. Lavendairy 3. Milky Way

Cult Nails Captivated over Models own Tropical Sun

After a few days I always get an itch to change up my manicure so I transformed the Models Own Tropical Sun I was wearing by adding Cult Nails Captivated onto the tips. What happened after was Magic! These two really complimented each other and looked great together.  Love it when that happens!

Models Own Tropical Sun

I've never been a big fan of orange colors. Maybe it's because it's one of my mom's favorite colors. Anyway I picked this color up as an after thought. I was after Models Own Indian Ocean and since I was getting that I figured I'd take a risk on Tropical Sun. I have to say That risk paid off! Tropical Sun is an awesome color and I love how the base of this is more pinkish than orange so you sorta have a coral color. Not to mention look at that Golden Shine! One thing that I found a surprise on this polish is that it has a lot of very tiny silver glitter speckles in it.  Not super noticeable but try to see if you notice them in the shots below! Just makes this that much more interesting. Nothing bad about this one, if you can find it and have the extra cash to buy it then do it!

OPI Launches the Germany Collection for Fall/Winter 2012

OPI embraces runway trends with the Germany Collection for Fall/Winter 2012. Drawing inspiration from Berlin, an exciting new fashion hub that blends classic looks with the avant-garde, the collection’s twelve shades offer a mixture of vibrant color, urban-chic neutrals, and reds in variations from light to dark.

Wearing these shades on fingers and toes is a great way to accessorize a range of looks for the season.”

Louboutin Nails

So I've seen this type of Manicure done before and I always thought hey that'd be neat to do one day but well it never happened. Also I'm not sure who started it if I did I'd give them full credit. So I posted a picture of the undersides of my nails on instagram really late at night and one of the comments was that I should paint them and do a reverse mani which made me remember "hey you always wanted to do the Louboutin Nails so Do them!" So at this point it was late at night perhaps 1am and I decided to go for it, I quickly grabbed the first red and black polish I saw and did a quick paint job, I didn't even do a clean up around the nails and after I snapped these pictures I took it off. Now one of the main reasons I stayed away from this is I always imaged the clean up to be painful. Well it wasn't bad, glitter removal is far worse!  The manicure is really fun totally has that business in the front , Party in the back vibe to it. Anyone ever try this? I'll have to remember to let the bottom of nails have some fun once in a while!

Sally Hansen Magnetic Polish

Today I've got a look at a few of the Sally Hansen Magnetic polishes. Before these I've tried a few other Magnetic Polishes but there was never anything that made me go Woah! So honestly when I got these I didn't have much hope for them. I tried the first color and instantly my mind changed! The magnet was easy to use, strong and could handle my longer nails. I did like the little lip on the cap which helped keep the magnet from landing right on the nail bed. A few sides of my nails did not get the full design but that's okay overall i still got good magnet nail coverage. The price point for these is approx $10.00 which is a good price compared to other brands.Plus the magnet is included so you don't have to pay extra for it. There are eight colors in the collection and if you love this effect i'd say get them all but I'd really recommend just picking up a color or two that you really like since well it can get a little tiresome wearing this all the time. There are lots of benefits to the magnetic polish first of all it's like instant nail art with no skill required, 2nd and my favorite is if you mess up or don't get a good result just paint over the nail and try again, it dries pretty quick so no worries of messing up your design if you don't put your top cover over it instantly. I really enjoyed these three colors but my favorite is by far the polar purple... The magnet effect just seems to dance back and forth on the nail. there really is nothing like it!

Sally Hansen is also holding a contest that is worth taking a look at. Here is some info, It ends in September so be sure to enter as they have a really nice grand price! I don't enter many contests but this one is too sweet not to!
