For the past few weeks I have been a complete Stalker! I went to Atlanta a while back and on the way back home to Greenville My Mom and I stopped at Brand Mart USA since it was a store she's never been in. That's when it all Started. On the way out I came across a KitchenAid Display and I was instantly obsessed. Since I'm not the type of person who can just buy something on a whim I pulled myself away and went on my merry way. I thought I'd move on and and forget... Well I didn't. At first I was upset that i didn't buy it because they had a sale and a rebate which made the mixer $285 plus tax. The cheapest I could find it online was $315. So the rebate was over and I once again filed it in the back of my mind. I felt really bad because I could go to my local Costco and buy a similar model for $150. So I struggled with the dilemma of is it worth paying double just to get the color. Which then brought me to the idea of finding a used one on Craig's list and having my brother paint it. He paints cars so i figured perfect i could even pick my own color. But the more I thought about it I could not forgot about Ms. Raspberry Ice. I even found an ebay store that KitchenAid has with refurbished models but they wanted 230 plus tax and it was with the stainless steel bowl. So by the time I bought the glass bowl I'd end up paying more so I just bite the bullet. I came across a Website that was having a sale Everythingkitchens.com , they had it for 304.09 and on their facebook website they had a 10 bucks off coupon not to mention no tax and free shipping. That was it I bought this beauty on Easter as a little present for myself and I'm still so excited about it that I had to go all out and do some matching nail art! Plus Kitchenaid has a rebate now where you can either get a meat grinder attachment or an extra glass bowl... I've already got the grinder so I'm getting an extra bowl! Total Win Win, Glad i didn't buy it the first day i saw it or else i'd end up paying more and I wouldn't have the extra bowl.
A little side note... I've never been a huge fan of hot pink, never had an urge to own a mixer like this so I'm really puzzled to why I has this strong need to have this. But I'd do it again. I pulled her out and made some chocolate chip cookies... (here's the recipe hands down some of the best cookies i had, and I'm not a huge cookie fan)
Okay a quick note about the polish. It's Zoya Trinity and it was the closest matching color I could find, almost a near dupe of the mixer. This color is freaking hot!! Just like the mixer it's a hot pink but it sometimes looks like a super rich magenta. Formula was perfect no issues. Love looking down at my nails and being remind of my new mixer! I showed my husband my "mixer" nail art and he totally laughed at me, He thinks I've gone nuts with the mixer!
PS: Kitchenaid please come out with a matching nail polish line for your mixers, I'm sure a lot of us Nail polish fanatics would be all over that!! Hint hint!!

| I totally broke down my husband into being okay with me buying a mixer, he loves to watch cookies baking! |

Balls. Now I need a hot pink mixer.
ReplyDeleteThat is one HOT pink! The mixer's not too shabby, either. And LOL at that picture of your husband sitting in front of the oven. HAHAHA.
ReplyDeleteThis was cute and fun
ReplyDeleteI love that last pic of ur nail art next to the hawt mixer!! woohooo!! ok, the hubby parked in front of the oven is awesome too LOL
ReplyDeleteBah, I've been dying for one of those mixers for years but I can never justify shelling out the money. Mostly because I'm reminded I already have a mixer and that everyone else will get fat if I get that mixer :D
ReplyDeleteWhere did you find a hot pink one?!?!?! Mine is baby pink, and I love it, but I would much rather have hot pink!
ReplyDeleteHehe, the colour looks lovely on you. I have the same mixer but in cream:). They're fantastic work horses and will last a lifetime. You were lucky. That brand retails in Australia for well over twice the price you paid!
ReplyDeletehah yes you do! I can't wait for when our kitchen is done, I've already got a corner in mind for it to sit in so i can always admire it!
ReplyDeleteThanks love!
ReplyDeletehah yes he was totally parked by the oven and did not move till they were done. Much better than a timer!
ReplyDeleteglad i got the mixer since hot pink is not a shade i usually go to for manicures. I was surprised i was able to get some decent pictures of it since pinks can be hard to photograph. hah just like my hubs he hates me taking pics of him, hah can't you tell i totally sneaked that pic of him. : )
ReplyDeleteyes that was one of my biggest concerns since there's nothing nutritionally good that gets made when there is a mixer involved, but you gotta let loose every now and then. If i already owned a mixer i would not splurge like i did, now i have to be content with my hot pink till the end of time, or the end of the mixer's life, heh. no regrets though!
ReplyDeleteany place that sales KitchenAid mixers online sells the raspberry ice, but it's pretty pricey, i think the average cost i saw online was 400. I finally found on one site for slightly under 300, and that's still pricey but i just had to have it.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I went with the crazy pink because I think it'll be a nice pop of color in our kitchen when it's done, we're doing a white with black look. Imported items tend to get marked up. Glad to know I got this for a great price!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe I have missed a Zoya fuchsia/hot pink/magenta! Love it! Have to have!
ReplyDeleteAny of the prices you considered for the mixer is so good! In New Zealand, one of those is US$1000++ retail price! :P
ReplyDeleteAnd I love matchy matching things too.
OMG I have this mixer on layby. Unlike yourself I'm a pink a holic so as soon as I saw the kitchenaid (which I already wanted) came in hot pink I knew I HAD TO HAVE IT!! It's so cool that you found a nail polish that matches. I will have to get this colour ASAP.
ReplyDeleteThanks for such a lovely bright post :-)
