Happy New Year!! My Unexciting New Year's Manicure

Sad to see the year is almost over but looking forward to all the exciting things that are about to happen in the new year. So I'm not doing anything special for the New Year Just planning to play more Zelda this weekend. Gonna make this quick and show you my manicure. It's nothing special since I'm not doing anything I did some quick stamping, I chose this pattern because it reminds me of the party hats people wear on New Year's Eve. I did top it off with a coat of Northern Lights holographic Top coat. The base is Orly Oui a very pretty purple base with a gold shimmer. hah so I'm actually watching Moonshiners Marathon on Discovery hah I know totally awesome way to ring in the New Year! Tomorrow I'll post some of my favorite manicures from 2011.  See you guys in the new year!

Glitter Gal's Dark Purple Holo (Pic Heavy)

Get ready to Drool!! Today I've got a look at one of my newest favorite polishes Ever! Two coats and it's perfect I don't have anything negative to say about this one. I love this shade. If you love purple this is a must have. I did find that this is an exact dupe for Ozotic 513, I wore both of them together on my right hand and did not see any difference. So if your want a bigger bottle it might be worth to pay a few bucks more and get the Ozotic. Okay I'll keep this short so you can start drooling over the pictures!

Glitter Gal Marine Blue

I hope you guys don't mind I have another Glitter Gal polish for you guys to look at today. In fact the next few posts will more than likely all be Glitter Gal. I hope I don't bore you guys too much with all these holos since we all know how unexciting holos can be... hah okay totally kidding here. I did not expect to like these Glitter Gal holos as much as I did. In fact when I went over to my friends house and saw a glitter gal for the first time I was shocked at how tiny the bottle was and I remember telling her how i'd never buy them since they're so pricey and so small. So I totally caved when I found the buy 3 get one free sale Kim over at Overallbeauty.com was having. Marine Blue is the one Glitter Gal my friend owned and I almost didn't buy it since I figured I could always borrow it from her but since the bottle is so tiny I figured I needed my own.  Well glad I bought it, this has an awesome opaque formula, this was two coats tops I usually never just do one coat of anything. It went on like a dream!

So by now a lot of you guys know that i'm completely nuts.. yah I know no surprise there.... I take pictures with both my iPhone and my Sony Camera, which means I always carry both with me at all times and I usually always have a bottle of polish with me of what i'm wearing so if I want to snap a picture I'm good to go. I just want to make sure that I'm posting pictures that are good and that the colors are true to life or at least as close as I can get it so using both cameras helps. I'm mentioning this because there's two very similar pictures below and I wanted you guys to see what a difference in color the cameras came up with. The iPhone captured a much deeper blue than the other and well it's not really that deep of a blue . Okay gonna turn off the crazy rambling machine.

Glitter Gal's Light as A Feather

I meant to post this much much earlier but today was one of the best days of the year, why? Sallys reduced all it's christmas polishes to crazy prices so I spent a few good hours buying up reduced polishes, hah yes pure heaven!!

Out of all of the Glitter Gals I got this one was one of the ones I was most excited about and it was the first one I actually wore.  I guess I got caught in the hype that followed it and sadly I was very disappointed. It's known to be a "white" holo and well it's not really white at all it's more of a grey putty color, sorta very pale bluish grey color. I meant to hold up a bottle of white in one of the pictures but I totally forgot to do that, sorry! Well I'm not a fan of this one, the color just doesn't work for me and it took approx 5 coats to get it opaque so if you like this one I would highly recommend layering this over a similar color so you don't waste half the bottle on one manicure. So for me this one was a total dud. The holo was pretty mute most of the time and the color and formula were well blah. Would I buy this one again? Nope, but since I have I will keep it and try to use it again down the line in some nail art.

My Last minute Christmas Manicure

Here's a look at my super quick Christmas Manicure. I couldn't part with DL Do ya think I'm sexy yet so I transformed it into candy canes and drew a little holly on my accent nail. I love how quick and easy this was and I love the end result. It really his the spot for today's festivities.

I wish everyone a day full of happiness and joy!
To all those celebrating, Merry Christmas!

Deborah Lippmann's Do ya think I'm Sexy

I've been thinking of trimming down my nails for a while now and a day before my husbands birthday I figured it'd be perfect to just do it as a mini surprise for him. With the shorter nails I felt as if i never painted my nails before I didn't know where to start and then I remembered loving Shake your groove thing so I knew I was gonna go with Do ya think I'm Sexy. So I've been wearing this for several days and I am loving it. I've gotten a lot of complements on it and it feels like a million dollar manicure! So I did about 5 passes to get it this glittertasic. I decided to take the glitter up into my cuticles since well you can't do a clean up when you have giant chunks of glitter and it worked well easier than trying to make a clean line like I did when I swatched shake your groove thing. Now after I was done I did take Zoya Carmen and I painted the ends of the nails since I didn't like how you could see a little white from where the glitter doesn't go all the way to the ends. It worked very well and was not noticeable at all, if you look really hard you can notice it in the pictures but if I had never told you about this you'd never know. I've had it on for days and I haven't had any glitter chipping, i did repaint the tip ends with the red just to freshen the manicure up. Love it and it's so Festive for Christmas!
  Happy Holidays!

Angel Baby/Snow Globe/Stairway to Heaven/Break Up Comparison

I had a request to compare Stairway to Heaven with Snow Globe. I went through my polishes and pulled out two more that were similar. The white base I used was Manglaze Mayo and the Black was Wet n Wild's Ink Well.  STH was the only one with a creamy base but since these polishes are more for layering than by themselves the creme base makes no difference. I like them all but my favorite in this bunch is Hard Candy's Break up since it's more blue/purple instead of multicolored like the others. I'm very impressed with Angel Baby since it's under the $2.00 range. These are all two coats.

Deborah Lippmann's Shake your Groove Thing + Bottle giveaway *CLOSED*

So this polish is a great polish to layer over any color or you can go crazy like I did and just layer it till you don't see any nail. So some advice with this one... if you're going to go insane with it make sure you just start over your base coat since it will take a few coats and you don't want to end up with super pregnant nails. hah yes I did do this and it looked so bad that I had to reswatch this one because I had giant fat glitter nails. So this did take a while to get on the glitter I think a good 5 rounds on each nail for it to get full coverage. I also thought it took longer cause well my nails are longer but even with shorter nails when I did do you think I'm sexy it took about the same time so just make sure you have enough time if you want to get it to the blingtastic stage. End result though is so freaking awesome. heh it's like I dipped my nails into a pile of gold coins!
I got a bottle to review from Deborah Lippmann's Pr Company but I already picked this one up in a trio set that HSN has Three Times a Lady Set. I don't need the extra bottle so I'm Gonna give it away!
Scroll to the bottom of this post for a mini Giveaway! It's a little quick mini giveaway and my first time using Rafflecopter so if you have any questions let me know. Also I'm very sorry to exclude my international readers from this mini giveaway but this is only open to my US readers.
For a good laugh here's the review my Husband wanted me to go with.... " Heys everybody I am the gypsy I loves the Gold , this looks like gold on the nails so I Loves it if you love Gold then go buys this."  Silly Hubby!
