Tarte's Glow your way to Gorgeous Set: 2nd QVC Shipment

This post is sorta a reader's request. One of the more popular posts on the site is the Tarte Glow your way to Gorgeous post and a lot of people are always doing searches for this so i figured why not. I got this about a week ago and finally picked it up and used it today. So here's a look of all the goodies that came in this 2nd installment of the Glow your way to Gorgeous Set. For those of you who have not seen this, this was a special value set that QVC was selling several months ago. This is the 2nd kit on the Auto delivery plan, it is not available for purchase but you can still get the first kit Here. I highly recommend the first set!

My thoughts about this set: I like all the items, my favorite is the concealer brush, which was something I felt the first kit was missing. The eye shadow color is a little darker than I would have liked it to be but it's still a very nice color. No complaints about this set, It's a great value and I know I'll get a lot of use from these items. Plus the make up bag is so cute!

Amazonian clay 12-hour Blush in Charisma
Amazonian clay cream shadow in Shimmering Moss
SmolderEYES Amazonian Clay waterproof liner in Charcoal
LipSurgence lip luster in Delighted

The only other items that I used besides what was in the set were: Foundation, brow mousse, and I used a highlighter under my brow and in the corners of my eye to finish off my eye.

Sally Hansen Fall 2011: Madame X

So Today I've got the last polish to show you from the Sally Hansen Fall Collection. Whoo Hoo! Okay so Madame X is a really pretty red color. It's a stunning red without being super loud and crazy.  I've always liked the idea of red nails even though some think it's tacky on longer nails but hey to me there's no better accessory to a little black dress than sexy classic red nails.

Sally Hansen Fall 2011: Terracotta

Almost done showing all of the Sally Hansen Fall Collection colors, This is Terracotta. It's a creamy tan and well for me it's not so exciting. Like all of the other Sally Hansen polishes the formula is great on this one, but I think this color is one that you either love or hate and well I can't say I love it.  Not much else to say about this one.
Hope you guys are having a great Halloween weekend!

OPI DS Original: Picture Heavy

So I realized that I never wore this beauty by itself. I've used it before in some nail art that I did forever ago, check it out here: OPI DS Original Nail Art. Original is sorta on the sheer side. I used 3 coats in these pictures maybe even 4 since I did not put a top coat over this. The thing I love most about the OPI Ds line is that they dry with a super high shine ,which is great because you don't have to worry about killing the holo by putting a top coat over it. Plus it dries really quickly. Nothing bad about this polish. It is in my top 5 favorites and because of that I had a hard time narrowing down the pictures so enjoy the massive amount and try not to drool!

Butter London: The Black Knight

Today I have a look at one of Butter London's Holiday Releases, The Black Knight. When i first saw the pr bottle shots i was floored and could not wait to get this. When i saw some actual swatches of it i was more meh about it. But i ran out and got it once i saw it was in a duo pack with another holiday release. So after getting it and wearing it i have to say I'm back to being floored. It's such a glamours glitter that constantly sparkles with little sparkles of silver, blue, pink and red to name a few there's a huge mix of glitter colors that all come to work in this one polish. It dries matte, So I threw on a top coat.  It is a little on the thick side but that only made application super quick and it is very opaque, I put this over a dark color i was already wearing but it could go straight on the nail and give you great coverage. The pictures are just one coat.

There's also a video of this polish in action at the very bottom so check it out!

Without further delay here's a ton of pictures of it...

OPI Nicki Minaj PR Preview

OPI Partners with Platinum Recording Artist Nicki Minaj to Launch Limited Edition Lacquers

OPI announces the launch of six new limited edition shades inspired by hip hop sensation Nicki Minaj, including a purple Shatter!  Inspired by Minaj’s unique style, love of bright colors, and her debut album Pink Friday, the Nicki Minaj by OPI promotion will feature an array of bold hues, from neon lime green to pink.
OPI is so excited to work with Nicki in releasing these six new nail lacquers,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “Nicki has taken the hip hop world by storm, but her music is only part of the equation. She’s also become a fashion inspiration, noted for her daring costumes and hair color both on and off the stage.”
Nicki’s eclectic look made including a new hue in OPI’s bestselling Shatter coat a must for this collaboration. The purple Super Bass Shatter (a record-setting purple that “shatters” before your eyes) is inspired by graffiti art and works when painted over any dry OPI hue. Adding top coat takes Super Bass Shatter from matte to glossy in seconds.
The line features five nail lacquers in addition to Super Bass Shatter, ranging from fantastic pink, rainbow confetti glitter and charcoal sparkle hues to two green shades in lime and teal:

Pink Friday
Kick off the weekend with this pop! of bubblegum pink.

Metallic 4 Life
This charcoal sparkle
flies with the stars in the skies.

Save Me
I drove for miles just to find this silver-rainbow glitter.

Fly
I came to win, to fight…and to wear this aqua.

Did It On ‘Em
A lusty little lacquer that loves the “lime”-light.

Nicki Minaj by OPI nail lacquers contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide Brush for the ultimate in application. This limited edition promotion will be available beginning January 2012 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for  $8.50 ($10.95 CAN) suggested retail for each nail lacquer.

Sally Hansen Fall 2011: Shiny Penny

I'm not a big fan of orange copper metallic polishes but this one worked for me. Who knew it'd look nice! So only issue with this one is that it dries a little streaky looking but it's not so noticeable unless you are really looking super up close. I didn't get a chance to snap a picture of it in full sun because well the sun was playing hide and seek all day but it really shines like crazy in the sun. I love it when a name describes the color well. Check out how crazy it looks in the flash picture, So Fierce! That's it! Till Tomorrow!

Cult Nails Quench

I have to say right off the bat that I was super impressed with the formula on this. The brush control on this was freaking amazing. I had so much control with this polish that I didn't even have to do a clean up on this one. That's almost unheard of especially with a red! So no clean up huge plus! In these super up close pics you'll see that I'm not lying. It's a great Red Jelly and the build up is also good only takes two coats to get it nice and opaque.
So The color is great because it sometimes feels like you're wearing a different polish depending on the lighting you see it in. Sometimes it looks like a super bright classic red and sometimes it looks like a super dark dried up blood color. I have a few similar colors in my collection but the formula and ease of putting this one on makes this one really stand out for me. Glad I picked this one up!

Opi Navy Shatter

I've bought a lot of the shatters that came out this year but honestly i haven't been doing much with them except collecting them. I like the idea of the crackles but till now i've always just used black and it was a few times when I wanted to cover up a mani gone wrong or just wanted something quick and fresh looking on my nails. So after i put on the Sally Hansen's Blue Himalayan i had to try the navy crackle over it and I have to say I love these two colors together. My only issue with the navy shatter is a really dumb one, I hate how it's so dark in the bottle because it's easy to mistake it for the black shatter. hah yah I know silly.  This blue crackle really hit the spot for me.

Sally Hansen Fall 2011: Himalayan Blue

This color surprised me the most since in the bottle it well doesn't look like much. On the Nail it turns into this super loud and in charge electric blue. This blue almost leaves me speechless because it ended up being so amazing. There is no way looking at this blue on your nails it won't put a huge smile on your face. Love.

Sally Hansen's Fall 2011: Dorien Grey

So when I think of the color Grey I don't associate it with being a great color for nail polish. This Color has changed my mind. I've never been a fan of grey but for some reason this shade of grey just looks amazing. Not to mention it's perfect for nail art if you're doing sharks or dolphins. My husband says it's also the perfect battleship grey. Regardless it's a very nice classic grey that would look great in any collection. I had no issues with application with this one.

 Enjoy the pictures!

Downy Nail Art

Sometimes inspiration will hit you and it can be from the oddest of places. So I bought a bottle of Mr.Clean and hanging off of it was a sample of Downy's New UnStopables. I haven't used the sample yet but I can tell you it smells really good. I really liked the design on the package so i tried to translate it to my nails and overall it's not perfect but i was happy with the result.
