I wanted to share with you guys some pictures of my new nail art brush compared to the regular standby I use all the time. I picked up the Orly Detailer brush from Ulta. It retails for 15 bucks. I've been eyeing this for a while and since I had some coupons for ulta I ended up getting it for around 6 bucks. The other brush is from Sally's and it goes for around 3.50-4 bucks. The big difference between the two besides the price is the weight & size, the Orly is twice as heavy and has a thicker handle. I haven't really had a huge chance to do a lot of testing but I did use the orly to do the nail art below and honestly it looks a bit sloppy to me but it's only cause i was "testing" out the new brush. The detailer does hold more paint than the other but then again the brush is a little larger.
My Verdict: The Worldwide Brush is better and give you more control of the paint. It's Cheaper and more importantly it's lighter so it's easier to use. I also wanted to mention that the orly is nice because it's all metal so if you get paint all over it you can clean it off while on the other one if you touch it with thinner it's gonna get messy. But then again you could have 4 worldwide brushes for the price of one Orly. I just picked up my Second Worldwide one after using the first one for many months, and it's still usable but the poor guy just looks a little worn out and has paint all over him!
Okay quick note on the nail art, just used a basic white an a random orange to drew some lines on top of Cult Nail's Captivated. The Orly brush ended up giving me thicker lines than I expected but next time i'll know to back off on the pressure since the brush weighs so much. I threw on some yellow pearls on the corners. Nothing fancy didn't want to do much since Captivated is amazing by itself.
|The orly comes with a nice fancy cap, total weight 0.3 oz|
|Orly: 0.2 oz|
Worldwide: 0.1 oz
