Essie's Lacy Not Racy

Okay so after stamping with the Konad Red Wine color  in the last post I really enjoyed that shade of "Blood red". I decided to cover it up all the way with Essie's Lacy not Racy. I picked this up at Trade Secret for 2 bucks. I painted this right over my last manicure. This is 3 coats.  This is spot on for what i think of when i think of blood.  So whose excited about the new season of True Blood starting up soon?? I know i can't wait. I just finished up the the newest Sookie Stackhouse book that came out so i've got Blood on my mind. okay i'm going off track here , hahah. okay okay this polish is great, it's a perfect vampy shade and it looks different depending on what light you're around it goes from a semi bright red to looking almost blackish. it's a jelly type polish so you'll have to put a few coats but it's worth it.

'"natural light" once i removed the polish i wanted to see if it would look any different if i did not layer it on top of another polish and well yes it looked the same except there was a slight Visible Nail line if you really looked closely.

"artificial light"  same thing here this is at least 4 coats directly on the nail with no polish under it. crazy how this polish goes from looking like a crazy red to almost black depending on the lighting!

  1. It is nice and bloody lol. It looks like OPI Vampire State Building (of which I love and will never part with... even the empty bottle if it ever gets empty).

    Looks good ;)

I'm with you on the True Blood. I'm trying to enjoy it for what it is... but sometimes they keep hurting my feelings because the books are sooooooo good.

  5. Its more truue with brighter lighting, because the more the lighting hte more tones are rich! thats why movie sets use alot of it! the brighter teh better, i hate when its soo dim it looks dark black. and natural lighting shouldnt be called "natural" it looks more yellowish jaundicey.  The second photo looks the best and I have the color, its a blood red.  If yooure in a dark dim room it looks brownish red(too dark)
    anywho, Great nails.
