Bobbi Brown Pretty Powerful Palette Review

I picked up these two beauties in a sweepstakes Bobbi Brown was having on Twitter. I was shocked when i found out i won and even more excited when these guys arrived at my front door. The way the palettes are made one is for light skinned(Pretty Palette) and the other is for darker skinned (powerful palette). I saw the QVC Special with Bobbi brown the other night and she was saying that both palettes will work for light skinned people but that if you're darker skinned the Pretty palette won't really work.

Okay so here are my thoughts on both of them. I tried pretty first since well I'm fair skinned. I did not like it at first since i put on make up and it didn't look like i had any on. It was a bit to delicate. As the day went on I grew to love it since with a few simple steps i ended up with a stunning fresh look. It's a good palette for everyday wear. I actually really loved the pic of me wearing pretty that I made it my facebook pic and i've gotten a lot of complements on it :).

So fast forward a few days later i decided to take on the Powerful palette. The colors are bolder and at first i didn't think i could pull it off but after some mascara and liner it all just tied together so well. I have to say i personally liked the powerful palette better, the lip color was an awesome shade of berry that looked great on me. The blush on powerful was really potent , hah a little will go  long way for me since its like several shades too deep for my skin tone but i made it work.

Pros... almost everything you need in one palette, great for traveling, gets you an effortlessly natural beautiful look, has nice large mirror. great color combo that will look great on everyone
Cons... price. these retail for $60.00 a piece. If you have extra money you can spend on make up i would recommend this but honestly i feel like you could achieve a similar look for much less. lip color doesn't have much staying power and not really easy to reapply more through out the day unless you bring your palette and a lip brush.  last con ... for 60.00 bucks you really get one look out of these palettes, not much you can do other than showing off your natural beauty. nothing there for a night look, the shadows are very sheer.

Overall Really great quality make up with all day staying power, if you can overlook the price it's a great everyday makeup that you will be able to get some usage out of.

  1. You look gorgeous with both looks. That was a great win to get both palettes! I like the Powerful Palette better. Pretty is just what the name is! Such a soft and delicate look.
