Sally Hansen Magical Crystal Ball

Okay so this post is very pic heavy. It was very difficult cutting it down to the 12 pics i have because i must have had a 100 good ones of this polish. A very good friend of mine gave this to me not too long ago and it is easily one of my favorites out of all the hundreds i own right now. I used a special base coat i had (avon nail metallics 2 step chrome base coat) it made a huge difference, It must be similar to nfu oh aqua base out there, Because it was a bit watery looking. my only problem with holographic polishes is that you can't slap a top coat on them, since it just kills the holo in them. So i felt a bit unprotected the 2 days I had this on. I didn't have a lot of polish built up on my nails for the extra protection they need. But it was worth being extra careful since i could not stop looking at them!

This is on top of the side view mirror or my car, i wish my car was painted with this nail polish instead of the silver it is!

Nail Esque Fashion Nail Kit: My Mom

I've bought a lot of random things on ebay and this just so happened to be in one of the lots i got off there. They were easy to put on, had a lot of variety in sizes so they matched up really well. On the back it says should last up to 10 days. well i did these for my mom a day before a party she was going to and the next morning i got a call that one had already came off, so i told her just glue it back on , I think before she went to her party 3 of them just popped off. They barely lasted 1 day. I did not use the glue that came with it i used some brush on nail glue i already had because i knew it was good stuff and was easier to brush on than the little tube of glue that came with the nails. These were a big fail but they made it through my mom's party even though she had to glue a few back on. I don't know how much these go for retail and i honesty wouldn't recommend them to anyone. hah now i only have two more packs to use up maybe we'll get different results. i painted the whole nail with Sally Hansen A Girls best friend and then the pink tips with Sally hansen's Byte and finished it off with a coat of Seche Vite.

Here's the original nails next to the "improved" nails

Nail Art Drag Tip Marble

This design was inspired by one of my favorite nail bloggers, Colette from My Simple Little Pleasures. She is the Water Marble Queen and has taught me a lot about all things nails. Here is a link to the manicure i went by . She has a tutorial for this design up so be sure to check it out. This was my first time trying this and I'm pretty happy with the results i got. Next time i'll do a few things differently. I was a bit nervous doing this one , one of those man i hope i don't mess this up deals , but with a lot of nail art you just got to get over it and let the brush do the work. Here's the colors i used from top to bottom Sally Hansen Black Diamond , Sally Hansen Byte, and Orly Shine.

how it's done in a nutshell , paint your base coat to make your base wet, you're going to work from the bottom up, so dip your brush in your first color and draw a semi circle at the base, clean off your brush and dip in the next color and do the same thing over the first semi circle. Repeat for the final color. then you just have to drag your clean brush from the top semi circle all the way to the tip of your nail. Create your design and slap a layer of top coat on it. Like i said there is a tutorial on Colette's Site.

China Glaze It's Poppin'

This color is just amazing! I'm very fair skinned and this color looked great with my skin tone. It's a creamy yummy deep fuchsia pink with purple glimmers here and there when the light hits it right. It has great coverage you could get by with just two coats if you were in a rush. Not sure what else to say about it other than i was very pleased with it.

Nail Art with Zoya Kotori and Zoya Yasmeen

So i have to start by saying i almost had a break down when i plugged my camera to my computer and it had no "memory" of the last 200 pics i snapped. I seriously felt like crying, but i found some software online that recovered those pictures and it put  huge watermark on all the pics so instead of buying the program (30bucks!!) i just cropped the pics so that's why some of them might look odd and not as crisp as usual. Don't judge 30 bucks can buy a lot of polish!

okay onto the manicure... I really like the color combination for the manicure, but i had a tough time figuring out how to use them after spending too much time brain storming i just went for it. I laid down Zoya Kotori first and then put down Zoya Yasmeen over it. So end results not the best but i still really like these colors together.

Revlon Perplex

So i've seen posts about this color and how it was an awesome color and well it just didn't seem to do much for me from the posts i've seen it in. But i filed it in the back of my mind that it was a somewhat hard color to find. So naturally i kept an eye out for it. Well i found it @ CVS and bought it just because. Boy am i glad i did, I was just gonna swatch this one and take it off but once i painted them and looked at them the color was just stunning I kept it on. The color dries darker than what it is in the bottle and it looks more purple than grey. If you have a chance to buy this than do it.

Piggy Polish Copper Harbor Pedicure

Okay after buying so many Piggy Polishes that have a slogan "goes on toes" I figured it was time for a fresh new pedicure. This Color is very interesting, in the bottle it has a orange metallic sheen to it, but it pretty much just looked really really red once on the nail. I don't know what is so special about this polish that makes it better on the toes. I usually paint my toe nails and forget about them maybe it's supposed to last longer, I dunno i guess i'll find out.

In this pic you can see how it's more orange-red. My foot looks ghostly white, hah i am pretty pale so this isn't far from the truth.

Stylish Blogger Award

I´ve been tagged

I´ve been tagged by nail blogger A Nail Polish Junkie with a Stylish Blogger Award.  She tagged me a few days ago and i feel bad that i haven't addressed it till now.  But better late than never! I appreciate the thought and accept the award!

So these are the rules to the Award:
1. Thank and link the person who gave it to you
2. Share 7 random facts about yourself
3. Give the Award to 15 other bloggers and let them know about it

Ok here are my seven facts:
1. Both of my parents are from Poland. So that makes me a Polish Polish Addict!
2 I was born in Sun Valley California (I'm a Valley Girl!!) and we moved cross-country to SC when i was 2 yrs old (Ahem.. make that a Southern Valley Girl)
3. I have 4 Brothers and i'm the middle child.
4. I'm very picky and it is very difficult to buy me gifts, but now with this nail polish addiction it shouldn't be too hard, especially now that i have a list of the polishes i own up as a guide to what not to buy since i already own it (*hint hint)
5 My Husband does not show any interest in checking out my blog nor does he know the name of my blog so sadly for me #4 will not apply. His Thought is why should i look at your blog when i have the real deal here. He's a sweetheart!
6 I've had other addiction/hobbies/collections through the years, but none of them have been as bad as the polish , money wise. here's a few examples shoes, rumber stamps, postage stamps, redoing my closet/clothing, necklaces, water globes, cake decorating, cooking, pogs, hah okay you get the picture.
7. not sure what to put here... I don't want to end on a sad note but a very important fact about me is that i love my dog Honey. Honey is my little brown Chihuahua who will be 13 in April. I've had her since she was a lil pup. I was in my mid teens when my mom bought her and when i moved i stole her from my mom. She's my little dog child, she thinks she's a human and loves to sleep with us in bed under the covers with her head on my pillow She has a bad heart and is currently on 4 different medications. I used to have her son Lucky but he passed away last year after a 4 month battle with Cancer. He was 10.5 years old. I Cherish all the time i get to spend with Honey and hope that whatever time we have together will continue to be amazing. . Just thought i'd share that with you guys since it has been rather stressing on me.

I know i should tag some other bloggers here but i will pass  because a lot of the ones i like i feel have already been tagged so i will be horrible and not do that but i do enjoy new blogs so if you have a blog out there and you don't think i've seen it send me a link i'll look at it and even follow if i like it. hah alright i've done enough damage for one post.

If you got through this whole post i'm surprised because i really love to ramble, (i threw that little fact in as a bonus)!!

Valentine Heart Manicure

So I know it's a bit early to start thinking of Valentine's Day but Elle's Spell put a Spell on me and i felt like having hearts on my nails!!

I used Opi Alpine Snow in Matte to draw the heart and cover up the tip, I was going to leave it like that but i wasn't happy with it, the matte on the white just reminded me too much of White out.

next i added a red glitter to jazz it up some more.

Last step i put on some dots. the red is more Barelle Elle's Spell and the white is more of the Alpine snow. oh and then I topped it off with Seche Vite.

Barielle Elle's Spell

So ever since i've seen this color on other blogs i knew i had to get my hands on it.  It's a deep red gel with flakes in it. Basically like Hidden Treasure but red. Okay love the polish but I have a recommendation with this one. After you do your base coat apply one coat of a similar red, because it's a gel you'll need several layers and if you don't put down a red you'll end up eating up all of your polish a lot quicker than you'd like. Also if you look at the pics it looks like i had major tip wear, i think the seche vite really shrunk the gel up. i really think it would not have been so bad if i had a layer of red under this.
